Staffing updates

Monaro High School would like to welcome two new staff members, Michael Barrett and Doug Stevenson.

Mr Barrett began in Term 4 of 2024 as Monaro High School's music teacher.

Coming from South West Sydney, where he completed his university degree last year, Mr Barrett says he is enjoying the peace and quiet of living in Cooma.

Mr Barrett says music helped him get through high school, and so he has always wanted to pass that on to students like him.

"I really want to support the senior students we have going through music now, but also build up and establish a strong foundation for the younger students to help prepare them for the HSC and beyond."

Mr Doug Stevenson

Mr Stevenson has taken on the Learning and Support Teacher role and is based in the library.

Having recently moved from Kingscliff, Mr Stevenson and his wife are currently building their home in Adaminaby.

Mr Stevenson has been a high school teacher for five years, but has always worked in roles that involved helping others, which is what he loves doing.

Mr Stevenson says he hopes while at Monaro High School, he can help students who need a bit of extra support get what they need.

Ann Miners

Monaro High School would also like to farewell Ann Miners, who has recently retired.

Ann has worked in the administration office of Monaro High School for more than 20 years, and her knowledge and skills have been of great value to the school.

Thank you, Ann, we will miss you.
